I have a yummy roll-out sugar cookie recipe, and yes, it's impossible in humid weather. The butter just melts immediately and you get a sticky mess. I like to make number cookies for Vaughan's birthday, to match his age. I don't do that for Nicholas because his birthday is at the beginning of our summer, and who needs to fight with the dough? We buy him an awesome ice cream cake, though, so he's not complaining.

they look marvellous!! Love it. And the idea of freezing stuff, yep, I'm into that. Nearly everything I know about freezing stuff I got from Nigella, so this is good, too.
And yes, I will kill you if you make gender specific biscuits!

I just watched this episode a few weeks ago and was extremely envious of Nigella's biscuit cutter Wicker basket!! These are great at Christmas and Easter too: we made them into decorated Easter Eggs last year!! Yum!!!!!

Those look lovely - cool range of cookie cutters! I have made these before, they are always successful but I agree, the icing makes them.

Baking is no fun in the summer, so I reckon that's enough excuse Those bikkies look great - remember, food dye can be used for FOOD as well as wool (yeah, I forgot this rather basic point last year...!)
Love the kangaroo biscuit :D

I love the kangaroo cookies! And I wonder if everyone has that one cookie cutter that's larger than all the others? It may be a requirement for a well-stocked kitchen, 'cause Momolla definitely has one random cookie cutter that makes massive cookies every Christmas, and all the others look tiny.

Oh, I love the kangaroo cutter. We have a cow that I begged mom to pick up once when we were in Lancaster. It's the Christmas cow. I think we have a moose, too. But there is definitely a really big gingerbread man in our collection. And a huge heart, too!

I love eating those kinds of cookies, but I absolutely DESPISE the work, and won't do it. I just have a total mental block with it. Wolf them down, though? That part I'll do...

My 6 year old Daughter and I made these biscuits last week and she could not wait to ice them as soon as they came out of the oven! Once ready to Ice it was pretty messy but I must say the taste is quite good. So we are going to invest in better cookie cutters for sure!
