i've met some great people from the triple-W. i've also met some losers. i guess the reality is, both in-person and online, you still have to have an eye for discretion, and dismiss/delete interest that you KNOW will be a waste of time, for any number of reasons.
My partner and I met through Love@aol back in 2000. We emailed back and forth for a few days, then eventually talked on the phone. We were about one and a half hours away from each other, so we wanted to get to know each other on the phone before gettingto gether. Once we did get together, we had dinner in Boston. We had talked so much on the phone that it felt like we knew each other. Fast Forward, we have been together for over 7 years and we are legally married in Massachusetts. The on-line option worked really well for us.
