I have a beef with you characterization of libertarianism: it is NOT "the ideology of indifference to social problems" - it's much more accurate to call it the ideology of minimal governmental involvement (i.e. the notion that government shouldn't be the entity to address most social problems). While there are certainly libertarians who don't give a shit about social problems, there are others of us who are extremely interested in social welfare, but not through the government. It's not crucial to the point of your post, but I thought I'd share anyway.

Yes, you're right... that was a rather petty and fleeting swipe on my part. On the other hand, the question I would have for you is to what extent your interest in social welfare is motivated by libertarianism? The fact that this ideology allows people to "not give a shit" about social problems suggests to me that it is very problematic.
