Just wanted to comment on the beltcast: most of my friends are in their 30s, and most of them use e-dating. I'm not really sure there is a generation gap, at least among the gay community.
It's also interesting to compare different sites; I didn't hear any comments about Gaydar, Adam4Adam, or DList. I wonder how many sites there ARE!?!
Also fascinating to me is the use of e-dating for anonymous sex; it's quite easy to use something like Craigslist for meeting people while remaining closeted. It's pretty rare to see pure sex-ads with face pictures on those sites. I think that might be a large part of why e-dating is so popular among the queer community.
