as a polyamorous person, i see the difference between polyamory and "playing" is the relationship.

if he's just going out and having sex with these other people, and not having an actual relationship with them, then at least to me, he's being a player, and not being polyamorous. yes, there are times when people have relationships based on sex, but that's still not like a one night stand. there's pillow talk and before sex talk, dinners or breakfasts. there's more to it than 'ok, i'm here, lets get naked, and i'm leaving as soon as our sexual needs are taken care of'
