i just wish the article literally didn't have a blatantly white person in each example used in the story. i know it can be hard to find a wide range of people to interview in a story, but this particularly strikes home for the homos in this country because white privilege among gays is becoming more prevalent than ever.
im with you as a young gay who is not naiive and certainly wants to be in a monogamous marriage. the culture has changed, politics have changed and so older queers wont see it the way we do.

how about f*ck assimilation? i think gay people should have equal rights BUT i wish lgbtq people my age didn't want the sames things as straight people...suburban houses, kids, marriage, ect. part of my queer identity is political - i will never be "just like straight people" nor do i want to be. my values are different. read "that's revolting: queer strategies for resisting assimilation" by mattilda bernstein sycamore.
