There's actually some truth in that. We are selfish, self-centred beings. Expending energy enhancing and protecting our self-concept, to partially quote a Fusionism.
BTW pyramid selling schemes are illegal and should be reported to Fair Trading. (Unless it was an Amway convention. Apparently they aren't a pyramid selling scheme, but display cult like characteristics.)

I don't think I'm allowed to mention who they were. But they certainly did display cult like characteristics and I don't need to report them to Fair Trading.

That's very sad. Yes, we are selfish... especially when we go through tough stuff it's easy to become even more so... but it is sad that someone would make a claim like that, implying that they don't ever think about anyone but themselves. Surely that's not true! Surely they think about other people at least some of the time, especially those close to them!
Guess it highlights Jesus' uniqueness even more.
