HDS sang some hymns in an episode of "Big Love" on HBO recently, and he has a good voice for it. As long as he picks his material carefully, he sings well.

I saw him in the late 80s w/two guys (from The Alarm, I think - they were also in Last Temptation of Christ" w/him.) It was called the (I remember this b/c I had a t-shirt of it): "The Broken Lightbulb at the End of the Hallway of My Heart" tour.
