Wow! Great pics; thanks for sharing! We have halloween parades here in Burlington, VT but they are more geared for kids. While living in NYC, I did manage to see the famed Halloween parade and it was awesome seeing all the different costumes. Of course, the gay community had the most elaborate costumes as well as the most nudity. =P

The big cities seem to have fantastic parades, although not all of them are orderly. The parade this year in San Francisco was marred by shootings.
I agree-- the Halloween parades in smaller towns, suburban and rural areas, etc., tend to be geared towards kids. I have no problem with that, but I find adults have more money (and sometimes more creativity!) in their costumes, so it's fun to go to events like this. 
You'd be surprised though-- even tho WeHo is clearly for adults, we saw a number of people bringing their kids in strollers. I guess they couldn't find a babysitter, or weren't too worried about exposing their kids' ears to the loud bands and their eyes to some very, um, creative costumes...
