How are you Dawn? I've been meaning to stop by and check on you. I've had my 12 year old grandson here from Houston for 4 weeks. He's a high maintenance kid. We've had him at day camp at the YMCA for the past two weeks taking swimming lessons. This week end I'm flying with him to Denver to meet his boy scout troop for a week at Boy Scout camp. I'll get a chance to hang out with my cousin in Colorado Springs for a couple of days. It seems as if the year has rushed by me and I'm behind on many things. We finally got most of our remodeling finished, just a little painting to go and it will be done for a while. I am very busy at work, we doubled the incentive for people to take out their grass. We did more appointments by the end of May than we had done for all of 2006. I'm pretty pooped by the end of the day. Now it's over 100 degrees everyday and that's hard to be outdoors most of the day. I had my birthday last Saturday but don't feel any older. Who has time to feel old? I'm very lucky to have old friends who live in Las Vegas, our oldest friends of 40 years moved with us. Their kids are like our own. There are so many shared life experiences that you don't have with new friends, and you appreciate that fact more every year.
Glad all is well with you. I hope to get back to blogging when I finish a project for work. I'm identifying several hundred plants for a data base with the Latin names. I just can't say no.

relocating is never easy and the adaptation phase is never easy on the kids. but all so worth it when you look back at the whole process.
i have now lived in 17 different houses, attended 13 different schools but would not have changed any part of my past. it has made me into who i am today and i am grateful for that!
and will be using "kakking myself" from now on when expressing nervousness!!! LOL!

Yep, I can definitely relate. The day we arrived in Dublin I'd never ever been out of SA before and there we were, the 2 of us with 63kgs of luggage and NOT A CLUE what we were in for! It's been good to us. Homesick, always, to some degree but I still think we did the right thing; the best thing for us.
Great post!
