Both pregnancies, both girls, we didn't choose a name until the very end. We always had so many choices, we couldn't decide!
Oh! And I didn't like my name growing up. Still don't, really. I always felt like my name sounded like the name of someone's crazy aunt.
Choosing a name seems so hard. I don't know how people ever agree! I've always been okay with my name, although it's not very interesting. I think the first-middle name combination is important too. Good luck with your decision!
Nope, don't like my name too much, but it's not anything like Zuma or even close. I never liked the way my first name and last name sounded together when I introduced myself. I guess my parents (short-sightedly) didn't imagine me as an adult banker on Wall Street introducing myself at meetings... :-) Deciding on a name for your child is so difficult. Good luck!
I agree. Choosing baby names can be pretty hard. I mean, our kids are going to carry these names with them for the rest of their lives!
We've decided on a name for a boy and a name for a girl (since we agreed not to find out the sex of the baby until he/she arrives).
Of course, these names can change at the last minute...or when we meet our little one! I was supposed to be named "Christmas", but I arrived a week early (thank goodness)!!!
We had two names, and chose when my daughter was born between the two because my hubby can NEVER MAKE UP HIS MIND. I wouldn't advise it - for 3 weeks I still couldn't decide if I liked her name.
Jill is a pretty tame name, so I've always felt comfortable with that.
When it comes time to having my own kids, my hubby and I both feel pretty strongly about naming a kid something that won't cause people to scratch their heads in confusion when they see it, will be easy to pronounce, but won't make their name too common. We'll see what we come up with! :-)
I liked my name, except I was saw growing up when I could never find anything personalized. (I'm over that now.)
I don't know if I'd have picked Vince for myself had I the option, but after 40 some odd years, I've grown used to it. However, I didn't name either of my boys after me.
Should Mr. Mogul disagree with your preferred name, perhaps you should remind him that future amorous relations might depend on his willingness to compromise and agree with your position.

I love my name and I always have. But like Nanette, I couldn't find anything personalized when I was little - my sisters would get stuff with their names on it, and I would get "big sister."
I still buy random things like notepads and toothbrushes if they say Genevieve on them, but I've only found them in French speaking countries.
I know I have a generic name but I love it and I wouldn't trade it for the world - My given name is Jennifer and I go by Jenn - I dislike being called Jenny but otherwise love my name....
I like my name....call your child Zuma!

When my father-in-law was in college, he sent his laundry home, his mother washed it, folded it and mailed it right back!
I didn't like my name when I was a kid - I'm named after my great grandmother, and I never knew anyone my age with my name. Now I love it - and I still almost never meet someone else with my name.
