Oh my God, we went through this. My husband and I never felt more hazed in our lives. It was that day and night that we earned the right to call ourselves parents. Actually I wish we had a blanket. We had to keep her under a lamp with foam goggles to protect her eyes. She wasn't happy about the goggles or the lamp. Hang in there, you'll get through it.
I've been so out of it lately & was like I have to check the blog to see if Baby Mogul is here, and here she is! Congrats! She's beautiful, but you know that.
My girlfriend had to do the glowing blanket with her son too. It was weird, but much better than heat lamps.
Your posts sound way too up for not much sleep.

My sister had to do this with her daughter too. Minus the glowing midsection, she looks just like those girls who used QT tanning lotion in the 70's. . .poor little thing. Hope she's less orange soon!

Well all of those things are better than when my daughter had jaundice. They didn't have those nifty blankets, so we had a Bili bed in our house. The neighbors thought we were growing marijuana!
My nephew had to do this. I love how you are determined to give entertainment value. I love you already! I will say... that is the most gorgeous head of hair!

Both my kids have been jaundiced and I had to do the baby tanning beds that took up too much space. I like this option better. I'm sure the she'll be out of there in no time, right?
I don't know, but she looks mighty pissed off. Watch out for her eyes, they might shoot laser beams at you.
Oh my. She looks like d) a glow worm. A very pissed-off glow worm, I might add.
Ih! This must be fairly new. Both my kids were jaundiced and had the little tanning beds, under lamps, etc. Neither of them got flourescent blankies.. Wow!

We had to skip that step and go straight to the in-hospital tanning bed, which is where we are now.
Here's to quick recoveries for both our little girls!
hang in there! hopefully you'll be able to take off the blue jacket soon. we had to put our little girl who was born 1 month early in it for days as well. it was insane as she was literally plugged into the wall 24/7 for days so made feeding and diapering an ordeal. as if being a new mom is not exhausting enough! at least this will fix her up fast and get her healthy! her original pic is online as well! just looked back at it. she will turn 3 next week.
