It's funny that you should write this since just last night I was making menu plans.
We're eating with friends [she can't cook] and I've gotten wrangled into helping her make dinner.
Brined Turkey
Chocolate Pie and Pumpkin Pie
Cornbread Dressing
Corn
Green Bean Casserole
And Sailor Jerry's Rum...lots and lots of rum. :)

Is mock turkey called murkey? :)
Hopeless omnivore here...and thank goodness my mother lives next door so I don't even have to bring anything.
My dad BETTER be making pecan pie, too.

I'm still getting over not being allowed to comment on your Duran Duran post. Love them, with all my heart. Especially John.
We are hosting turkey day here at our house (yikes!) We usually do a totally traditional meal, but this year I think I'll add some flare. And no, I haven't gone shopping yet (yikes!)

Somehow I didn't figure you for a vegetarian. I had a dinner party two weeks ago at which my guests brought the foods they would most like at their Last Meal. It was fab. We had salmon, brisket, spaghetti and meat sauce, pumpkin pie, chocolate bread pudding, Caesar and a whole lot more. No one died the next day.

I want to make a vegetarian dinner for Christmas too. A dinner for 12! Suggestions?
I don't think we have Tofurky in The Netherlands!

I've always wondered if those Tofurky's are any good! I'll have to try one out now.

I'm a carnivore and probably will be until a doctor tells me that I have to stop -- I like red meat (though I only eat it maybe once a week) and chicken, turkey, etc. The boyfriend and I are flying to my mom's for the holiday so we'll have tons 'o food and probably overindulge ourselves.

If it doesn't come out of a can or fit in a toaster oven..... OK well maybe not that bad, but Martha Stewart I'm not. Luckily for me, the hubs loves to cook, so I'll do my best to stay out of the kitchen. It's better that way.

Just bought my Tofurkey... haven't tried the actual roast yet. My family SAID they liked the Quorn turkey I took last year, but again it was just for me while they ate the bird. I was pleased that a couple of them tried it! Fortunately my mom is willing to sub a couple of ingredients so I can still eat the side dishes. I love mashed potatoes!
