Saxby might have won without Palin, but she sure did help. Anyway one of the qualifications for the nominee in 2012 is what candidate fights hard to set the party on the path to victory. So far Palin has gotten in the trenches and fought for GOP candidates.

WOOHOO! Good job Chambliss, and nice assist, Gov Palin! A victory for the good guys.
Now if we can just keep that troll Franken from stealing the (hard fought and won by Coleman) battle in Minnesota...
We will have another bright spot in the darkness!

Yes! Score one for Palin!
I can't believe Martin is crying about how this is a "black day" for America! Why, because a Palin-supported candidate WON??

Unfortunately, Saxby won primary due to the voters desire to NOT have a filibuster proof senate and not because they particularly wanted Saxby. If you look at the demographics, Saxby is not particularly strong historically with much more than farmers. The illuminati liberals, however, weren't as committed this time around.

Are we talking about the same Palin here? The one that doen't believe in evolution, who can't name all the countries in North America (all 3 of them), who can see Russia from Alaska? THAT Palin?
Yeah, I don't think she's helping anybody with much of anything.

Let me guess, you have the list of banned books by Palin, right?
There are at least 25 reasons to love Sarah Palin
1. She's got chief executive experience in government, unlike Obama, Biden and even McCain.
2. She gives renewed hope to women of America that they will live to see the first woman president. This is especially touching when it comes to seniors who long to see the glass ceiling broken in their lifetimes.
3. Sarah Palin doesn't just talk respect for unborn human life. She's lived it. She chose not to abort her son after learning that he had Down's syndrome.
4. She will help with energy policy. She loves Alaska -- and still thinks it's time to drill. At a time when gas prices are sky high, she's a sensible voice who understands supply and demand.
5. She doesn't just talk supporting the troops. Her son is a soldier. He leaves September 11th for Iraq.
6. She's not afraid of guns. She hunts and fishes.
7. Many Hillary Clinton voters will kiss the Democratic Party goodbye and never go back. Some have already made that choice.
8. She has a proven track record as a whistle blower and reformer who's not afraid to take on members of her own party when they cross the line.
9. So much for the "McCain is just an old white-haired guy" theme. He's still old and white-haired, but by his pick he's demonstrated that his thinking is anything but ossified. Now he'll literally have youth and energy on his side.
10. If Sarah Palin becomes president in due course, her husband the "First Gentleman" really will be a gentleman (in contrast to the philandering spouse another female contender for the presidency proposed to drag along to the White House).
11. Somehow, against all odds, a Republican in Name Only has picked a conservative VP, energizing the conservative base.
12. Leading conservatives, from Mark Levin to Fred Thompson to Mark Steyn (and about a thousand others), are enthusiastically fired up!
13. She's a Christian.
14. Palin can only help McCain with fund raising. Many checkbooks that had been closed tight are opening wide for McCain.
15. Sarah Palin's husband is a real man with many achievements in his own right.
16. For voters who support Obama because the idea of electing the first black president is exciting, Palin adds counterpoint excitement to the race.
17. Some of the usual smear tactics of the left will look especially dirty and petty as they try them out on Palin.
18. Her selection knocked Obama's convention speech -- the "biggest speech of his life" -- off the front page, the latest in a series of strategic victories for the McCain campaign (another such victory was Rick Warren's forum with the two candidates, in which McCain did well).
19. She's a young, attractive conservative -- just as Obama is a young, attractive liberal. The left thinks it has a monopoly on young and attractive. Too bad!

AnyMouse,
Palin has much more executive experience than Obama.
Seems the key to this year's win was lying not competence.

Hmm...Kind of seems to me that even a large majority of the GOP blames your hero Palin for McCains failed presidential bid. I also noticed how you didn't refute anything stated in my earlier post. A few things I'll get to in yours:
1. If she has chief executive experience, then why does she have trouble with the basic branches of government, as reported by Fox News? Also, THIS is deeply troubling...
Yes, Palin cannot name a single newspaper or magazine even though she is asked repeatedly by Couric to name a specific one. All Couric gets back? "I read a 'vast variety' of what's in front of me". Face it; Sarah Palin is an idiot. I'm sorry to berate your idol or whatever she is to you here, but dear sweet Christ is it true.
2. Valid point, although I believe the likelihood of Palin being on the top of a ticket in 2012 is highly unlikely given the beating she has taken in the press.
4. Gas prices are 'sky high'? Have you been living under a rock or something? The national average is under 2 dollars a gallon.
5. I actually find this disheartening. You would think with her son a soldier that she would not want to prolong this eroneous war. Here's a hint; YOU CAN NOT WIN AN OCCUPATION. Unsure if Republicans towing party line realize this.
6. Not afraid of guns? I fail to see the point here. What does this have to do with anything at all? She's not an action movie star - she's a politician; I could care less if she kills animals for fun or not. This has no bearing on her ability as a politician.
7. Simply a falsehood. This is the mistake McCain made. He picked Palin to scoop up Dem voters who supported Hill, thinking that they were interchangeable because they both have vaginas. It didn't work...AT ALL...obviously. In fact many Hillary supporters found this pandering frankly insulting.
9. Yeah, and he needed it! But Palins youth did not make up for her vacuity as a candidate.
11.what do you mean, 'against all odds'? He picked her for that very purpose! I really hope this fact is not lost on you, as it is/was fairly blatanty politically obvious.
12. Some are, some are not. She has recieved a fair share of beratement from the hands of Republicans who were not happy with the pick. In any case, it is clear that the Republican base was not 100% behind Palin.
13. Irrelavent, but so is Obama, and McCain, and Biden.
14. Okay, this is really starting to confuse me...did you just copy and paste this list from somewhere? You keep referring to the ticket as if the electio

You sound terrified of Palin. If I were you, I would be.
Tell me again, what is your name?
The large majority of GOP voters did NOT like McCain. That is why Obie won and why he will lose in 2012
Brain hurt much? You've four years of defending a spectacular disaster.
Tell me, when are the troops coming home from Iraq?

I posted the rest of the post, as the first time around it was omitted due to length, but for some reason it's missing again...anyway here is the rest...
16. Granted.
17. Lets be fair here...BOTH sides of the aisle run smear campaigns. The GOP does it just as much as the Dems, in fact I would argue much more.
18. Okay, you definitely copied and pasted this. Yeah, McCain lost.
19. Actually, I hope neither left nor right thinks they have any kind of monopoly on 'young and attractive'(though I will admit Palin is pretty foxy). When I watch CSPAN I don't exactly see 'The Bold and the Beautiful', if ya know what I mean.
GAH! My ARM hurts!

@Skye...
You are absolutely correct, I am TERRIFIED of Palin! I am genuinely scared that someone who knows so little about the issues and has so little understanding of the basic functions of government, etc, could be tapped for Veep! It truly is terrifying.
My name is Chuck.
So, let me get this straight...McCain lost and Obama won because the majority of GOP voters did not like McCain...and somehow this is also the reason Obama will lose in 2012? Your logic is nonsensical to put it mildly.
Don't you think you're jumping the proverbial gun a little bit with the "defending a spectacular disaster" thing? Obama has not even taken office yet. Now the Bush era, THAT was a truly Spectacular Disaster if there ever was one! I suspect you would be in more of a position to be defending things than me
Obama has tentatively called for a complete withdrawal from Iraq by the end of 2011, with forces being pulled back at the start of summer '09. Keep in mind these dates are tentative as Obama is not yet in office. (You know, you could get these figures for yourself quite easily with a little bit of research
O, and 'Raoul', in the future I'll try to let you know ahead of time if I plan on using a big, hard word like 'vacuity'. I wouldn't want to confuse you.

In 2012 - McCain will NOT be on the GOP Ticket - Republicans will not have a reason NOT to vote, and there will be millions of disillusioned O voters as well.
I understand that my statement might have been too nuanced for you to comprehend. I will stick to small, easily digestable words with you from now on.
Spectacular disaster = Obama presidency. Some things are quite clear.
