I have found that some of my most relaxing / least stressful days have been days when I've absent-mindedly left my phone on the counter while rushing out the door and didn't have time to go back...
Unfortunately, it's not often that I don't have time to go back!! 
Oh wow, I have never heard of someone texting during a movie! That is really really annoying!
As for pay phones, Oi. A couple of months ago (okay almost a year ago) I accidentally locked my cell phone inside a house for which I didn't have keys. I obviously panicked because the number for the person who owned the house (my landlord) was in my phone and if I just went home (parents house) my phone would be locked in a house in a city that was an hour away. Anyways, I ended up driving around for 25 minutes looking for a pay phone. I went in every convenience store and looked in plazas and could not find a single one. Do you know what I ended up using? I asked to borrow a phone at one of those convenience stores. I was shocked that pay phones have become so obsolete! Also, they totally raised the prices, it used to be .25 cents and it is now .50cents!
egads... i would've wanted to have kicked their asses out of the theater. that shit pisses me right the hell off. anyway, on a different note, have a happy new year, sara!
