I'll remember that day vividly and I'll remember your reaction as well. At first I was upset at you waking me up before my alarm was suppose to go off but then I heard the tone of your voice and knew it was serious and how this country would be changed after turning on the TV to see the first tower go and then hearing your voice again when the 2nd one started. Its the first time I can remember all of the music radio stations going completely to news all day and night. All types of music stations, from classical, to country, to R & B, to Heavy Metal/Hard Rock. I don't think they did that for Katrina.
I will never forget either.

Nor will I. I was watching CNN when the broadcast switched to the scenes in New York. I felt the same emptiness as I did when I saw John Kennedy being assasinated in that one video that wasn't shown again for years.
Kennedy's death destroyed much of my faith in the Government. The death of Bobby made me numb. George Bush restored that faith after 9/11. Maybe the rest of America will wake up too!

I remember getting ready for work. I remember driving to the office and listening to the radio and the speculation of it being just an accident. I remember turning on the tiny TV on my desk and watching it all day in horror. How I functioned that day is still a mystery.

I remember being at work and barely being able to hear the radio over the machinery. After Flight 93 went down, our bosses called us together, updated us and then sent us home. All I wanted to do was to go get my little boy at school,to hold him close.I will always remember the heroes of that day.I will always support and pray for the heroes of today. God Bless our troops!

Very powerful images. I hadn't seen the top pic of the WTC before and it clutched at my heart.
Thank you.

On the door to my my office you will find a reproduction of the cover of a July 1941 issue of "Liberty Magazine." When I saw the cover in early 2002 I had to buy it.
Of course it has the word "Liberty" in medium to large letters across the top. Standing in an open air blacksmith shop is Uncle Sam in shirtsleeves and leather apron. In the distance are a factory or two. Nearby an eagle crouches watching Sam closely. One of Sam's hands is raised holding a large hammer. The other hand holds the red hot sword he is forging on the smith's anvil.
For Christmas 2001 one of my co-workers gave me a daily calendar titled "365 Salutes To America." Each day has a different quotation about the U.S.A. from many sorts of persons. On the day I bought that issue of Liberty the calendar carried a quote from Senator Daniel Webster. Call it Karma. Call if fate. Call it whatever you will. I felt compelled to add this quote to my scans of the cover:
"GOD GRANTS LIBERTY ONLY TO THOSE WHO LOVE IT AND ARE ALWAYS WILLING TO GUARD AND DEFEND IT."

Thanks for sharing that Mustang Sarge. May we pray that we always have folks like both yourself and M23 that are willing to guard and defend liberty.
