Oh I looooooved this book! I recommend it to nearly everyone and it's definitely one I want to reread again. I too loved that she was so straightforward but never self-pitying. She never condescended to the reader but rather gave us a very real truth in bits we could swallow. Loved it--glad you did too!

Kelly and Kat, a friend of mine lent it to me and I almost didn't read it because I'm sort of memoired out but this one really does stand above. I loved it and walk away from it with deep admiration for the Walls children for not only surviving their childhood, but for thriving.
I had the same exact feeling about how she wrote it--it stuck with me a long time.
