For various reasons like the fact that Darwinian reasoning is a projection of Victorian era economics onto Nature that's what Darwinism tends to explain based on competition and economical reasoning about the "fittest." Its explanatory power is strong as an economic theory yet it is weak when it comes to most aspects living organisms and the holistic nature of biology and ecology in general.
