I like your analogy with pubs. There is arrogance out there, but I feel that's the same as any walk of life.
Arrogant? I suppose I am at times but I try not to be. I also used to run a business and part of business is getting the repeat customers and I do enjoy my repeat visitors and hope to make it worthwhile for the newcomers to come back again and become regulars.
I may post on this also if it is okay with you-but today i am going to watch a football game. Now if you want to see some REAL arrogance just watch an American NFL game. These players could give the French some lessons about being arrogant.

I suppose spammers are the cyber equivalent of the gits that stick taxi stickers on your pay phone or whack piles of flyers on the tables and by the peanuts.

GUYK - over here pubs are only allowed to serve drinks until 11pm with 20 minutes after to finish the drinks unless the pub has a special license to open later. A licensee can lose their license if they get caught with drunks on the premises too 
I liked your post on this. I agree that I am more shocked that people read my blog than arrogant in thinking that anyone should care enough to read it. I like many others am happy when a similar minded person comments. I keep my blog to keep up with friends and as a personal diary or sorts. The thing that bothers me most, but does not really happen to me because I do not post much controversial, are people who are vicious and mean in their comments. Please offer your opinion if it differs but have respect!
I don't think I'd ever call you arrogant, the bar analogy fits pretty well though. That's what this web site has that's so appealing, it's comfortable like a neighborhood bar, just a good place to sit down, kick back and enjoy a cold beer... Ahem.... a cold beer?... hello,... over here? cold beer please? Shit. I suppose chips are out of the question.
Pub vs. 'blog
Well..... there's less cigarette smoke in a 'blog. Though this one's got a bit of a misty atmosphere.
There still seems to be vomit stains on my chair though.....
'bloggers come in all shapes, sizes and degrees of arrogance. We are gearing up for a centre conference and I was asked to test the acoustics in the room. In my best public speaking voice I announced that I would be using an RGB projector wired with a switch unit and buffered output, just for something to say. "Well, we can only just hear you at the back", said my boss, "but that's OK because you are the quietest person in the centre, so the others should have no trouble".
Great. And I used to be into AmDram..... How useless do I feel now?
Where was the point? Oh yes, arrogance... I have a 'blog and I'm very underspoken. Does that equate with low arrogance?
Michelle - Thank you too I'm not over keen on the nasty coments either, but I've found asking them why they said it seems to make them go away. If they don't, there's always delete and ban
