We had an Adam at my high school, too. For that matter, he had the same rep in elementary school. His name was Keller and he was beautiful and mysterious. He never had a girlfriend and I don't think anyone ever heard him talk. He looked like a model and every girl I knew wanted to be near him. He was older and when I was a sophomore and he a senior I found out a girl I knew had actually gotten to know him and he turned out to be incredibly boring and only played video games all the time (this was before the major video game craze so at that point it was kind of weird).
I went through my yearbook a while ago and what struck me as incredibly sad is the message from one of my close friend (who reserved her own page) that talked about all of our inside jokes and things to not forget. I couldn't remember over half of them.

Paisley, so weird. That's Adam to a T! Hmmm, did we go to the same high school?
Oh yeah, there were so many things in the yearbook making reference to this or that, and I was sitting there going, "What?" At the time, it feels like you're never going to forget those things.

I like this post, reminds me of being crazy in love with a virtual stranger, only to look back as an adult and see things alot clearer. Nice memories though..being that crazy about anything.

Oh, I LOVE the "what can I say?" I think 9/10 of yearbook entries start with that.
Oh, and if you ever make a movie, he needs to be in it. I mean, a character based on him. Yup.

I think my favorite part of his note is "...on the face of this black planet," because it's so high school and over-the-top dramatic.
I'm thinking I'll let John Hughes direct this movie, yes? He was straight out of "Pretty In Pink."

I think we all have an Adam Hiteside-Way in our past. I think I'll go home and look through my old yearbooks!

Aren't all yearbooks cringe worthy. I recently was looking at the husband's and *that* was funny.

Nice entry. It brought back so many memories - most of them embarrasing! Thanks for the flashback!

I have a theory that all the good looking, mysterious, inaccessible boys from high school are just BORING. At least the ones from my high school. I never felt like we could talk, b/c I just wasn't good in conversations with them, like I couldn't relate to them or something. And I can talk to a wall if need be. But that's how it felt at the time, like I was some uncool speechless idiot or something. I just always thought it was me, and my best friend felt the exact same way.
Then, we went to a high school wedding in May and saw all those folks for the first time in years, and it suddenly struck both of us that it wasn't US, it was THEM. Specifically the fact that they are all really, really boring and kind of dumb. I can't tell you what relief that brought. Vindicated! Also, none of them has their act together and they all kinda peaked in high school. Sweet revenge...
