Gimme Some Moe!

Gravatar I loved Dr. Demento! I used to listen every Sunday night on WXRT, I think it was. I might be wrong, it was so long ago. I think "Dead Puppies" was probably my fave.

And when it comes to funny music, we can't ignore Warren Zevon. Werewolves of London, Excitable Boy, Lawyers, Guns & Money all qualify.

Then, borrowing from the "heart" list from a few weeks back, there's "You're Breakin' My Heart" by Nilsson.

There's also half the Mose Allison songbook. He has a great way of eliciting a laugh while simultaneously making a legitimate point about life and people. If you haven't listened to him in depth, I strongly recommend it. Especially good for laughs are the songs "Your Mind is on Vacation" (which I once dedicated to our California friend in a TtU), "I'm Not Talking" and "Ever Since the World Ended."

I'll think of more, I'm sure of it.

Gravatar I thought of putting Zevon songs in there, and I probably should have. I did a Zevon podcast when I first started the podcasts, and it's about high time I did one again.

And that Nilsson song is one of my favorite songs ever. It's probably the best "fuck you" songs in history.

Gravatar The time change always messes me up for a few days. Ally da Pup as well. GRRRRR.

Oh well, at least we'll have more daylight. So to speak

Gravatar Too hard to get out of bed! GAH!

I love me some Jack Black. I can't get enough School of Rock...

Gravatar Oh man, I love this stuff! I have a whole bunch of Weird Al, plus Dr Demento oldies. Like Joe, I tuned in regularly. Here are five faves: Junk Food Junkie, They're Coming to Take Me Away (ha ha!), Dirty Deeds Done With Sheep, The Devil Went Down To Jamaica, and Hey Gonnorhea.
