RE: Your Tommy James story.
I knew a couple of girls in school that did the same thing with "Hey Micky." Hey,thanks for THAT memory.

No way. No way can I choose five. That's INSANE!
Okay fine. But these are five OF my faves cuz there are way, way more.
Nights In White Satin - Moody Blues
Bad Moon Rising - CCR
Light My Fire - Doors
Love Child - Supremes
The Wanderer - Dion
Also, Strangers In The Night (Frank), These Boots Are Made For Walking (Nancy), Mrs. Robinson (S&G), Mony Mony (TJ), California Girls (BBs), and a special, timely shout-out to...
THE UNICORN SONG (Irish Rovers)!!!

Oh, what perfect timing for that Unicorn Song, too!
I know there are way, way more than 5 for me, too. i can't even begin to list them all. My 60's playlist on iTunes is 279 songs, but that's even pretty short!

This was so darned tough just limiting myself to five... but it made me really think.

Oh Tommy! My favorite classic song of his is Sugar On Sunday. Have you heard his Hold The Fire album yet? It's great!

I know every song except for Paul Revere And The Raiders - Hungry, off to find a copy of it somewhere. But before I go, here's a few of my picks.
1. The Beatles - Here Comes The Sun
2. The Band - The Weight
3. The Temptations - My Girl
4. Otis Redding - (Sittin On) The Dock Of The Bay
5. The Rolling Stones - You Can't Always Get What You Want

I don't have time to give this post it's proper attention. I think Happy Together would be on my list though. I always liked Daydream Believer more than I'm A Believer, but thought it was funny that both songs came from the same band. Walk Away Renee would be on my list, too.
It's so hard to pick on Beatles song but In My Life is definitely one of my faves so maybe that.
Worst That Could Happen by Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge is another one that would definitely make the cut.
Don't Worry Baby, God Only Knows and Wouldn't Be Nice also would fall in there somewhere.
Also...
Runaround Sue or the Wanderer by Dion
Town Without Pity by Gene Pitney
Young Girl by Gary Puckett
And this is just the beginning. Obviously I'd have a hard time narrowing it down to five
