Okay, I'm loving this project but this is my first comment on it. Surprising b/c your comments make me LOL every time.

I think it's hilarious that she's talking about Clark Gable being a "perfect man" b/c of cleanliness => sex appeal. I'm sure all the women swooning over him in It Happened One Night or GWTW were thinking "My god, he's so clean." And knowing he had chronic halitosis makes it all the yummier.

OMG.... I'm about to do a similar series of blog posts, but about a book called "How to Win and Hold a Husband." Someone found it at a tag sale and gave it to me, and it is HILARIOUS. The difference is, there is *no* wisdom amongst the archaic thought.... only unabashed sexism and misogyny!
