We complain about our expensive gas and we try to find solutions for our oil crisis. There is a simple solution. Build fuel efficient cars and junk these damn gas guzzling behemoths. For all of you how are anti anything at has more than 4 cylinders here I come. I can see where you are coming from but look around we live in the USA. Bigger is better not practical, the last time we were practical was in the 40’s. Everything that is American is not practical, look at your TV, cell phones, houses, food, computers, games, communications; I can go on and on. We are not satisfied with what we have that’s way everything continues to get bigger, smaller, and faster. For the few that know I went to Ukraine, I have seen a life that is so much simpler. When I came back to the states everything that surrounded me made me dizzy. We can’t stop the hungry monster but we can educate him. Till then I will still be that self-righteous American that most of use are and do not admit to it.

just scored a used 1996 vw passat tdi (turbo diesel, biznatch) for 5G... it gets 42 mpg and will run on any combination of diesel and/or BIODIESEL... we get a 55 gallon drum of biodiesel delivered to our door for $3.60/gallon... its made from virgin rapeseed oil, so farmers benefit as well... when you factor in the mpg, we are actually SAVING MONEY AND SAVING THE EARTH... oh yeah, its got dual airbags (not us, the car) too - so when that soccer mom wannabe with only one child (who plays the piano not sports) leans into the backseat to adjust her spoiled brat's portable DVD screen because his fingers are "too cheezy" and careens into my lane - I feel real safe now!!
