Gravatar NUCA's latest news for the curious:

1.
NUCA's first big project was the creation of those bubblegum collector cards - and we've nearly sold out. Last Saturday night they were launched in Perth (at Breadbox Gallery), which followed Sydney Launches (at Briefcase, the MCA Biennale Opening, and The Cross Art Projects in June) and Melbourne (Next Wave Festival in May).

If you've missed out on getting your mits on some, try the Cross Art Books, our principal secondary vendor: www.crossbooks.com.au

It's rumoured that the cards are also on sale at the NGV shop in Melbourne. Or if yer really desperate email NUCA at nuca@bigfoot.com

2.
By the way, astronomical sales have resulted in a budget surplus, which NUCA is plunging back into the network – NUCA now invites entries for the 2004 UNCO GRANTS! For more details, look at http://bilateral.blog-city.com

Cheers
Phil.

Gravatar why are uncollectable artists trying to be collected?

Gravatar The artists featured in the latter pages Australian Art Collector are quite often uncollectable, you can't blame the galleries who pay for advertorials for trying to move a few more units!

Gravatar The same reason ephemeral artists like to be in museums. Money. Fame. Money.

Gravatar Phil T Luca may have missed the irony in this story...
