The inclusion of OzCo peolple in this list has made a very long night of the last. Cherine Fahd is a very very bad artist. I can not remember seeing a grant recipient list without her on it. As OzCo take increasing care to give the same money to the same people and then those same people start nominating OzCo employees for distinguishments such as this....
Cherine Fahd's work didn't look too bad when it appeared in Aust. Art Collector's most collectable list.
Oh dreary me Art Life, your hit listing of the 'taste makers' (YUK!) is no less repellant than the SMH original. Shame you should take a leaf from the Herald's desperado celebrity lifestyle channelling, and funny how both look to the orgs & gallerists for a hit of pseudo, big city power-puffing. Fancy the day when the artists, and hell, maybe even ARTWORK becomes the most influential force in the visual arts.

Interesting to watch the running tally on this vote... does everyone really think Gary Carsley, Susan Borham and Phatspace are powerful, or are they just efficient at getting people to vote for them? We could, perhaps, look elsewhere. Rather than mirror poll obsessives, we could become personal and each of us nominate a singularity which has exploded our universe.
