Ive heard of artists that don't take criticism very well, but that's just damn extreme. It wasn't even nasty criticism that you gave.. it sounded more like a compliment.
Maybe I was hardened as an artist by having a dad that thought all my work was shit.

I'm sorry to be dipping into this mess but I want to add that I can't quite believe none of you lot knew who eX de Medici was until January 2005 sometime...I mean really, where have you guys been? SHE has been very thoroughly covered in the media (both mainstream mags, art mags and newspapers...et al) for YEARS. Had tons of shows, tattooed famous and infamous people, is in major collections around the country and O/S and even pops up on telly now and again... wake up boys, the art world's bigger than a Sydney breakfast!!!
There are a lot of artists and a lot of art works in Australia. You don't seriously expect everyone in Sydney to know every other artist in the country do you?

so why are you assuming eX de Medici is the same person as Xavier de Medici? why bother prefacing your january issue with the notion that if someone signs themselves Nick Tsoutas but really aren't, you wont print it, but are more than willing to confuse identities yourself?
And it should also be obvious that 'stab in the front' and adrewwing you directly is a play on what critics do (stab in the back)so why confuse a figure of speech with a death threat? just a tad over dramatic perhaps...
Because the emails came from one "eX de Medici" but were signed Xavier, hence the confusion. We're not "willing" to confuse anything, that's what happened.
I am 'willing' to concede that's a strong point and also that I have trouble spelling 'addressing'.
