I think this is pretty obvious too.... It's the same as figuring out that fat dieters end up eating more than think people three days after starting the diet! Anytime one denies oneself, there's a rebound effect. So all these teens who are so pure and virginal are gonna end up throwing caution to the wind one day after a heavy make out session. I see it on Degrassi all the time 
The Catholic Church helped (back in the 1950's) "If you think about sex, it's a sin. If you prepare for sex, it's a sin (buy condoms). If you use birth control it's a sin. If you have sex, it's a sin.
But...If you are "swept away" in the moment it is just ONE sin. Having sex!
Bingo 3 fewer sins! (of course if you get pregnant well just don't have an abortion, that's a bigger sin, but we don't talk about that, just give the baby up for adoption. No biggie.
