Gravatar WaPo is selling papers, I fear. The wingers will buy WaPo because it reassures their basest wishes - and the good folks are on the internet so it doesn't put money in the till.

Syria sees well enuff that the WH doesn't represent the U.S. - why would they work with cretins on their way out? If we are to get anywhere, we need to send credible leaders.

Gravatar You are correct about Israeli standing duplicity. Sometimes I even suspect that they blow stuff/people up on the eve of peace just to keep the edge.

Gravatar Keep in mind that WaPo is owned by a corporation, just like, for example, NBC is owned by General Electric, which makes far more money from the weaponry they sell to the Department of Defense than it could ever wring out of MSNBC, CNBC, and its other media properties.

WaPo's owners make more of their money from Kaplan Education than from WaPo, Newsweek, and its other media properties. Kaplan gets money from scared and/or incompetent people to help them pass tests, like getting into medical school or out of high school. For more information, check your local Craig's List website under job opportunities.

So where do you think Mr. Hiatt's loyalties lie? I think we've seen enough of his editorials to know that they're not with the well-being of the United States and its people.

Gravatar Thankfully, nobody who matters is seriously influenced by WaPo.

But on the whole, I'd rather have a shadow government run by Speaker Pelosi than the current one we have, which is being run by Vice President Cheney.

Gravatar The continuing wankery of Mr. Hiatt is indeed a thing to behold. I was prompted some time ago to include Hiatt in a reworking of The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in honor of a few key WaPo associates.

I must say that Fred has outdone himself in living down to his verse.

15.[Hiatt] And when he had opened the fourth link, I heard the voice of the fourth courtier say, Come and read.

16. And I read, and beheld a mass of distortions and lies: and his name that wrote it was Idiocy, and The wingnuts followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the estate, to mislead with pen, and with words, and with images, and with the shameful iniquity of their lies.

Gravatar You should go and read the comments on Hiatt's article. His hit piece on Pelosi has apparently attracted all the woman bashers out there. With few exceptions, the comments are vitriolic. If the Speaker of the House were a man, I don't think he would be attacked with such virulence.
