They've thrown off the very flimsy veil of rationality since it's been obvious for awhile now that the U.S. public doesn't believe them anyway. It's business ethics at its ultimate conclusion, if your claims aren't credible, just act like they are and tell the baldfaced Big Lie. The base doesn't care anyway.
