Cindy, I haven't read too many of these, either. But I've got to chime in and agree with you about The Grapes of Wrath. And I read it at age 40 or so--absolutely hated every second of it.

These days, I feel under no obligation to God or anybody to read something I'm not enjoying. Even if it is supposedly "good for me"!
