Correction: The court stopped short of ordering certification. It said Franken was entitled to it but did not order action by the Governor.

The election certificate that once loomed so large in Minnesota's U.S. Senate race has been signed with little fuss.

Democrat Al Franken is headed to Washington after Republican Norm Coleman conceded the race. Coleman's concession came Tuesday after the Minnesota Supreme Court rejected his lawsuit challenging results of a statewide recount.

Democrats had worried that Gov. Tim Pawlenty would refuse to sign the election certificate, which Franken needs to be seated. Pawlenty had said he would sign it if ordered by the court, but Tuesday's decision said only that Franken was "entitled" to the document.

Once Coleman conceded, the point was moot. Pawlenty signed the certificate early Tuesday evening and Secretary of State Mark Ritchie — a Democrat — added his signature soon after.

He will never mention THE FACTS that he said Franken would first never win the Democratic Primary in Minnesota, second that he would never win the general election, and third that he would never win the recount.

Too bad O'Falafel isn't still on the radio, I would be calling all day the next time he is on to remind him of what he said in the above paragraph. Could we expect any less from O'Loofah??
