Gravatar This is exactly why we homeschool. These are MY children, thankyouverymuch. I know them, I've made them who they are, for the most part. Parents need to take back control of their families. I will never let another person dictate to me what is best for my childen. With the exception of a doctor or someone similar of course!
Why would you send your son to preschool, even two times a week, if you did not want to? Who are the "others" that have the rights to make such decisions in your and your baby's life? Just curious. I do hope I do not sound confrontational or anything like that. I'm not one of those homeschoolers who try to push it down everyone's throats. It just saddens me when loving moms and dads hand over the reigns (so to speak) to others, who do not know and love the kids like the parents do.

Please do not think I'm being mean, I am not trying to! Raising children can be a touchy subject, and I am not very articulate. I wish you and your kids all the best!

Gravatar "only parents who do not love their children send them away every day." -- (words spoken behind my back by my mother in law to my father)

to each his/her own! when we were kids, it was not expected that we attend preschool because going to school for 1/2 days at 5 years old was sufficient enough for us to begin our 13+ years in school! what kind of society do we live in that it is EXPECTED of parents to send their child to preschool at some fancy, expensive place so that they are properly 'prepared' for elementary school?!

(btw, both my husband and i work full time, so my 4yr old is in preschool and my 1yr old at the sitter all day, every day. i do not condone this behavior. you can do whatever you want - just don't judge me, and i will do the same.)

Gravatar Yes, it is so true how the whole subject of school versus no school, whether it be a preschool or beyond, can be a touchy one. I feel that people need to do what is best and realistic for them.

I have been in both situations, I used to work full time and had no other options but to have him in preschool (even now as early as age 3 they have preschool) and it wasn't my choice but I had do to it. I do know moms that even if they didn't have to work, they would still probably put their kid in preschool and again, that is fine for them. It all goes back to people doing what is best for them and of course, it all depends on your situation.
