I'll place a call, as well, but won't hold my breath. Though both men are(were) criminals, the comparison ends there. In Nixon's time, the media could be relied upon to report news. Sandwiched in between celebrity trials, missing white girls, and expose's about the pedophile next door, Dubya could probably commit a rape on the White House front lawn and only about 10% of the population will even hear about it. I was coming od age during the Watergate years, and served in the military between 73-76. It doesn't feel remotely the same. Colleges were hotbeds of activism, and our entertainers stuck their necks out and wrote and performed about the outrageous actions of the administration. In short, people cared, alot of people cared. Perhaps I'm just jaded....

Ohh, good one, Cyn! This is most definitely getting passed along in e-mails.

Mack's right. I was in HS during the Nixon fiasco - no one let it slide, not the media, not the editorial page of your hometown newspaper, not mom and pop down at the country store. I heard about Nixon and what a crook he was everywhere I turned - it had nothing to do with partisanship - the bastard broke the law, people were righteously pissed and he had the good sense to get the hell out of Dodge before Congress threw his ass in jail. Hell - comedians did entire routines on the subject – even Johnny Carson lampooned the situation. Today – it doesn’t matter what Bush does – it’s ignored! I can’t believe the MSM just walked away from New Orleans! Its still hell down there – the government has allowed a major US city to rot away – it is not being re-built. That alone should land Bush’s ass in a sling, but it’s ignored, along with a dictionary of other offences up to and including fraud and incitement to war.
Yes, I will make use of the information – and thank you so much for providing it. Despite my overwhelming cynicism, I never give up. I still write my representatives, exhorting them to action, thought they soundly ignore every missive, save for the usual canned response. And I shall continue to do so. I just am afraid it will come to naught.

Hey, guys and gals, I hear ya. I know the media has failed us, but what does it really have to do with us? So, the media will jerk it around and play it. But, we all know the truth. Let's use this for some momentum and build on it. F the media. It certainly does not define who we are. If third world countries can protest, why can't we grass roots people organize and get our voices heard? Since when have we become dependent upon MSM to tell us what is right?? In other words, MSM does not lead us. We lead MSM.

It's sad that nobody is willing to take on this administration. I wish I had some musical talent or something!!! Gee whiz, we need a modern day Bob Dylan. Although Green Day's American Idiot album is damn good.
