Being born in Perú, and having experienced a developing country democracy first hand, I have seen the declination of American democracy during the last two presidential elections. Florida 2000 and Ohio 2004 are patent proof that our electoral system has descended to the standards of a Banana Republic. And the Bush presidency reminds me the Latin American juntas of the ’70’s and ‘80’s (minus the uniforms). There is a correlation between the deterioration of the values of the American democracy and the Third-Worldization of the USA.

Lizzy the grand thing is, our children probably won't pay for anything because they will not spend to fix it, until it's too late... then our children's children will pay for it.
