Too many sad stories about people who have died, and are injured, because of Bushco's lies.
While the taxpayers continue to get stung for that "we're not into nation rebuilding" rebuilding in a country we never should have invaded, destroyed and still continue to occupy, the government still does not do enough to address the problems of its own people here at home. A lot of that "war" money could have been better spent.
Gawd, but it ticks me off.
(Is this one of many rez areas that [I think] might do well to have the advantage of solar power installed, to supply themselves and even sell some of it into the "grid" system. ?? I don't know, Eli, but things just have to change.)

The problem with selling electricity into the grid is that the grid itself doesn't extend to those homes in the first place. The issue isn't the supply of electricity, it's the delivery of electricy. Ronald Reagan declared that rural electrication was done, when in fact it was not done, and the program was phased out. The area with electricity stops abruptly where they quit building the lines and all the dozens of homes beyond that don't have power. It is true that small-scale solar arrays or windmills per house could be erected, but the cost of doing so for all those homes is actually more than it would cost just to build the d**n lines!

I understand the part about the grid not extending far enough. Building power lines to connect into the grid would result in utility bills, plus the additional costs of wiring the housing.
I was kind of thinking that if such a solar project were used, there'd be some electrical distribution company that would be willing to pay "rent" back to the rez for setting it up, for having that solar power space made available and to connect them into it; and that the upside would be little or no electric bill for the people of the rez to have to pay, for providing the space.
(There I go, again... thinking!)
