Gravatar Oh no! Poor Sandy!!! Nellie and Bill send their condolances.

One of my friends just went through this with his dog Sophie. If you like, I'll give you his e-mail and you guys can commiserate and share stories (he and his wife slept in their living room for several months until sophie could climb stairs...). They took her to hydrotherapy, which she LOVED. (Yes, I know it sounds ridiculous, but I'm sure it was fun for all).

Gravatar Allison, thanks for your well wishes (and those of Nellie and Bill)
This is the third repair, so unfortunately, we've been through everything before and we've been surprised at how common this surgery is. We did hydrotherapy with Sandy for the first repair, but we had to drive to Middleburg, VA for that (they have since opened a lot more facilities) but we saw better results with the physical therapy routine that we did with the second surgery and we plan to repeat that again this time instead of the hydrotherapy. I'm glad to know that other people have slept downstairs with the dog- we did that a few times last time, but fortunately we can keep her in the dining room where she can't get into any trouble (no stairs or furniture that she tries to jump on) Thanks again for your well wishes, Sandy really appreciates them!

Gravatar get well farts-a-lot
