Nice tuck pointing job. I got pretty good at it working on the foundation of our old house. Although I never got very fast. The mortar was in such sad shape that you could pretty much pull bricks out with your bare hands. I'd rework a section, pulling out bricks and mortaring them back in place, let it set up overnight and then move on - sort of like a high-stakes game of Jinga.

Jocelyn- Correction, the patio and decaying deck kicked my ass! At least Mike was victorious! Seriously though, even though the backyard is a giant mudpit right now, I'm so happy to have all of that crap gone that I actually think that it looks better. The guys started digging yesterday, I'll post pics tonight of the progress.

If they're going to reject the trash can, they could at least not rip off the stupid tags. Or, the stores could post a notice in the trash can section as to what the city will accept in terms of trash can size. I guess that I should just be happy that they pick up twice per week so the small size isn't an issue. We were so mad that we went back to our old house and got our stinky old trash can. As for the tuckpointing, I am much slower when I want to make it look nice, but this section doesn't show, so I didn't really care. We're very lucky- I believe much of the house was repointed in the 60s... at least this section, so we had a solid mortar about 1/4" back from the front, and just really needed to fill in.
