Yes, and I got a letter back from them saying that they haven't gotten it (for our civilian friends, the DD Form 214 is your discharge from active duty military) yet.

I got out in 1987, but I spent 11 more years as a weekend warrior. Maybe I should call the personnel office of my last Guard base?

We treat Danny's DD214 like the Shroud of Turin.

Right now it's in an envelope marked "DD214!!!!" in two-inch high letters in our safety deposit box, plus we have about seven copies in our house.
