Gravatar Did you happen to read Iowahawk's satire post about the Washington Chrome Post? hehe

My contempt for the State-Run Media knows no bounds anymore. Their behavior echoes an earlier post of yours, in that they are completely addicted to power.

Gravatar At least the pole dancing is honest work.

Gravatar As a newspaperman, I'm ashamed of my profession once again.

Gravatar Joel, I've never read your paper, and it is probably wonderful compared to what passes for news here - the St Petersburg, Florida Times may as well be the St Petersburg Russia Times. Leads the state in Obama fanny-kissing.

Recent example. Tiller's murder made the front page above the fold. They did local stories where abortion clinic managers are calling pro-lifers terrorists. The next day's recruiter murder by the wacked out Muslim? A short AP story buried deep in the paper.

There isn't a single local columnist who is right of center. Most barely hide their comtempt for me and my faith.

Between March 2008 and March 2009 the St Pete Times lost 10% circulation. I don't know what motivates others, but why should I contribute to the salaries of people who hate me? If I want Obama brown-nosing I can get it from Katie Couric for free.

Gravatar My paper actually leans right, which is bloody uncommon. Comes of being smack in the middle of farm country. (Plus a heavy Mormon population.)

But I know perfectly well we're the exception. The journalism trade (I don't care what they say; it's not a profession) tends to attract people who lean left in much the same way that the military and police force tend to attract conservatives. And too many journalists figure that, as "professionals," they really do know better than the average joe.

Gravatar At least pole dancers have enough of a sense of shame to use aliases.
