The reason a lot of people have a twisted view of Christianity is because of groups like them.
I'm just sad and sick to hear about that.
Maybe...maybe there'll be some version of the "Patriot Riders" that will show up to stick up for (run interference for) the VT families? Man, I hope so.
Westboro Bastard Church is an apt name. And if you look at their mambership you will suspect some first cousins have been involved in carnal activity (which may also explain their actions). There weren't enough gay people dying to keep them in the news so they moved on to Iraqi combat dead, and now the Va Tech victims. Does the Bible's ban on prostitution include publicity whores?

"I really hate these people." The Westboro Bastards do these disgusting things while claiming the Name of my Savior, and that really pisses me off.
Yeah, I think at times that "Christian" has been a designation that's been so abused by some as to make it almost meaningless to the culture as a whole.
That's one of the big frustrations as a Christian, ricki - the Scripture says to always be ready to explain to others the joy of your heart, but all they ever want to ask about are those who have no joy at all. They want to try to get you to admit that people who fail to be Christian (or abandon it altogether) are proof that Christ Himself is not worth following. Failing that, they want to prove to you that everyone who follows Christ is secretly like that - even though they see you standing there in your right mind, gainfully employed, not wrecking up the place.
Again, I've had relatives accuse Christianity of being monstrous, after knowing me for years (and presumably not thinking that I'm a monster). I sometimes wonder if they really think through what they're saying.
OMG, they're pseudo-Christian jihadists... Yowsa. I was involved with a Pentecostal church about ten steps removed from this... Think WBC lite.
