My dear, they don't need to sift through bloggers food or sopping habits in order to classify them. Our writings are out there for everybody to read and draw conclusions on. And you know how wierd and ridiculous can some of those agents be when they try to spot terror suspects.

Dear Ehsan-
Ha ha, you are right!
I guess that means I can go ahead and put as much chelo kabob on my credit card as I want.

Looks like Iranians are the new Jews of America. Isn’t it ironic? They should prove their loyalty to the fatherland. The ridiculous part is the fact that in the last few years since 9/11, not even one Iranian was arrested as part of any terrorist cell. I know it's too early in the morning, but for some strange reason, I have a yearning for Lebanese food..

Dear Mohammad- I agree, and I think that is why so many Iranians abroad, not just in the US but elsewhere in the "west," are pushed to constantly critique everything in Iran, even if it is not based on facts or is widely exaggerated. They do it as a way of showing that they are loyal to their host countries, and so it is a discourse largely driven by an implicit fear, rather than any conviction.

I'm afraid that might be counter productive: The agent might be more intrigued about someone who seems to hide what she reads and where she eats.

Niki, I think you most probably are joking about paying cash at MEern restaurants! But personally I am tired of self-censorship and scrupulousness. All my life in Iran we were told not to talk because "they" will get us; at the same time we were deafened by the Western propaganda that "we are the most open, the most free socity in the world". Now we are here, and the freedom they were bragging so much about it, has gone!
No Niki, I'm borrowing from my library whatever book I like to read (I'm not rich to buy), I am signing petitions about anything I like, etc etc

I'm speechless - that article read like an April Fool's story! So, am I supposed to start curbing my chelo kabab habit or something? And I'm afraid my doogh cravings aren't going anywhere.

Iran targets 'obscene' rap music
The Iranian government has announced a campaign against rap music which it considers obscene.
The Ministry for Culture and Islamic Guidance said illegal studios would be closed and rap singers "confronted".
