The results of the poll are really neat ... Far from what I would have guessed about Iran.
But I'd be curios where and how polling was done in Iran. I guess you could say that about many countries, but even more so in the case of Iran: there's phenomenal plurality. From one city to the other, one town from the other and even in Tehran. And, Tehran, as great as it is, does not constitute the entirety of Iran. So unless there was a gargantuan polling effort to scan the entire country, the results would not be as reflective of the whole population as it would in other countries.
And I am with you on Obama! I don't know why it's taking so long for people to come to their sense!

Which one would you consider the lesser (or least) of the three evils?

pedestrian- I agree with you. I'm pretty sure this poll extended into the provinces as well, but even so, I think your point about the phenomenal plurality in Iran is valid.
Foruhar-In terms of least of the three evils, I would go with Obama. If the US would allow third parties to run in a fair way, we wouldn't need to go with the least evil, we could just go with the nice, Ralph Nader

Hi Niki,
isn't the title of the poll you cited "International Public Opinion Says Government Should Not Limit Internet Access"? That would run contrary to these 42% that think Iran's government should censor sites, doesn't it? Don't really see your point. You are not actually saying internet freedom in Iran is prevolent, do you? That's why an Iranian blogger friend told me if I could send him some Iranian-Indie music that he couldn't download in Tehran. And the band is FROM Iran, imagine that!
As for Obama, don't be surprised. He's a politician, and these days integrity and presidential politics are long lost cousins.

Hi Jim-
The findings on Iran and the interpretations of what those findings mean are the work of the World Public Opinion organization. I just copied them here. If you have any questions about the "point" of the their findings or what they are really trying to say, I am sure they have an email address where you can contact them.

I've just found your blog so I may be a bit late on commenting; "...his strong condemnation of people..." links to a comment that states "Resorting to violence to express displeasure over a verdict is something that is unacceptable and counterproductive." How is that statement a condemnation of people?

Hi Nikki,
Obama is the less of two evils.
I just cannot imagine another 4 years under the same regime. The world has suffered enough from this maniac.
It is not that I have no sense about Obama, I do. But the thought of McCain being President almost wants me to run naked in the streets pulling my hair out.
