Well fucking said.
As I wrote on Daily Kos (before he freeped my account):
So let me get this straight.
According to pretty much every influential left-leaning blogger:
It is not a "conspiracy theory" to suggest (and post pictures) that Bush wore a wire during the debates.
It is not a "conspiracy theory" to suggest that Karl Rove set up Dan Rather and 60 Minutes with a (possibly) phoney document about Bush's lack of service in the Texas Air National Guard.
It is not a "conspiracy theory" to suggest that Karl Rove or Dick Cheney leaked Valerie Plume's name to Robert Novak and others.

He freeped your account? How CHICKENSHIT!!! Talk about the proverbial kettle and pot!!!
I'm not calling for taking these "elitists" down (although I'm all for calling them out on intellectual cowardice), I think we need COHESION rather than infighting (the very thing I think has hobbled the Left since the early 70's). Instead of mindfucking what meme we need to get out there, we need to just get it out there; the Republicans have never worried about the details of the memes they've circulated, they just go with the shotgun effect and watch the bodies fall.

1. There were problems with the voting.
2. There were a lot of problems with the voting.
3. We lost by over 3 million votes.
4. Last time the election was stolen and we were ahead by 500,000 votes
If the Dems had cajones, they would make national voting standards a part of the party platform. But going on about overturning the election is not going to help us at all.
I really wish I were part of this super cabal you seem to be alluding to.
Wonkette is pretty hot, even.

Oliver, my point is the Dems have to make vote reform THE ISSUE in their platform. Personally, I'm not convinced that votes were stolen but the fact that the perception of a gamed election exists (and that perception is based on very real problems with the system) is enough to demand comprehensive reforms.
And my problem with Wonkette is that she looks a lot like my last girlfriend...

i think y'all are both right, me. the vote was fucked, it was always going to be fucked, it has been fucked, it is fucked. the lawyers are on it at the moment, it seems. and it makes me just as mad as you, nino, that this issue isn't "sexy" to most people. but until they dig up something that will stand up in court, we have to chase down other, bigger game. like the fact that ARMORED VEHICLES ARE NOW SHOWING UP MYSTERIOUSLY AT ANTIWAR DEMOS.....
because we've got video of that. somebody needs to talk to the CO of the base those things were from and find out what the official story is. they're not going to answer my questions because i'm a crank, but maybe somebody else here can play the "i'm a journo" card...
cheers,
