Hello Nino.
I see the media-as-traitor motif as a reaction of the pro-war right to the incessant bad news.
It couldn't have been their beloved leaders, it can't be that our troops treat Iraqis like animals (or worse), it can't be that the war-planners had it wrong from the get-go.... it must be the media!
Firmly held tenets, supported by constant rose-colored-glassesisms from Bu$hCo, are far more powerful than facts, as you likely know (having a degree in Psych).

have you seen "the corporation"? one of the more interesting tidbits in it was when some local fox news reporters took their station to court for lying about a story. and the court decided that the media is under no obligation to report "facts" or the "truth". makes things a bit problematic. and scary.
