Ho! Well said. I'm no psychologist, but it's always seemed to me that the primary Red State emotion is anger, springing up from a deep well of fear. And that their "American Pride" is nothing more than an expression of that rage. Glad to hear it expressed so much more eloquently than I could.

Gee, I thought those power of pride stickers were nothing more than secret republican signals to each other. They never actually made any sense to me otherwise, other than as yet another attempt by republicans to play the patriotic card -- which, when you think of how much damage they've done to this country, is so extremely ironic...
