Gravatar Also, when Spiderman, who has superhuman strength, punched Doctor Octopus in the face, it should have immediately killed him. Doc Ock's superpower is superhuman craziness -- his fancy arms (which, of course, should tear out of his ribcage when they lift cars, but such is the way) don't make his jaw punch-proof.

Sincerely,

Fonzi

Gravatar Well, Spidey does pull his punches when fighting regular humans, but one blow certainly should have KOed him -- in the comics, Ock knew enough to use his arms to keep him too far away fer punchin'.

They did try kinda hard to show Dr. Octopus always bracing himself with another arm when doing something ... still woulda been tough on the ribcage, but I liked that it connected to his spine ... somehow that seemed more okay.

John Byrne was villified, by the way, for changing D.O.'s costume to include an exoskeleton-type bodyarmor in his "Chapter One" miniseries (some of which I do dislike), just to explain this exact problem.
