This used to bother me too, but I somehow managed to let it go. (While I cling to my ire at the misuse of "literally.") Maybe I convinced myself that it was sarcastic.
Yeah, but that's a weird type of sarcasm. Would anybody say sincerely, "I don't especially care about this concern of yours, though conceivably, my level of caring could be even smaller"?
