I had heard about Fergie's days in "KIDS Incorporated" but not as a Peanuts voice. Who knew that Charlie Brown specials and Canadian kids' sketch comedy would bring us celebrated pop acts galore?
My friend Beth was the voice of Sally in "Happy New Year, Charlie Brown" and she has fond memories of recording her lines in Bill Melendez' own home studio. She also has stories of being cast as an effervescent, energetic character for a long-forgotten toy-selling cartoon series ("Moondreamers") and being plied with lots of black tea at the tender age of 9 to maintain said energy and youthful exuberance throughout the course of her recording sessions. Ah, showbiz.
