Gosh, I had previously only encountered the Muppets and John Denver in album form-- didn't even know the special existed.
That's... an astonishing number of Muppet Christmases. A Muppet Family Christmas probably still the favorite.
My favorite Christmas special is the Claymation Christmas with the California Raisins. I never see that one on TV anymore, but thankfully there's YouTube...

Their running gag about "Here we come a wassailling" got me thinking about this...
I didn't know that O Holy Night was by a Unitarian minister - that's cool. I don't really think of that one as a carol, because it only works as a solo in my opinion.
We Wish You a Merry Christmas - the demand for figgy pudding is actually a reference to wassailing, which was like trick or treating, but you'd get wassail (alchoholic beverage like mulled beer) and sweets. It could apparently get pretty rowdy. (If landowners refused, their house was often vandalized.)
